We’re sending our condolences to Don, Cindy and the whole Brooks family at this time.
Corrie was such a long-time, close friend. She and our Mom, Frieda Fast, worked together in a hat factory in Holland before World War II. They both married Canadian soldiers who were stationed in their home town, but ended up living across the country from one another when they moved to Canada after the war. Their friendship continued through more than 70 years after they immigrated, sustained by their shared experiences of being war brides. Both ended up on farms after being city girls in Holland. They regularly wrote letters to each other, talked on the phone, and Corrie often visited our family in the Okanagan. They called each other “Fast” and “Brooks;” we can still hear our Mom, delighted to hear her friend’s voice on the phone, saying “Ha! Brooks!!”
The photos are Corrie and our Mom, Frieda, in Holland before they immigrated to Canada, and on one of Corrie’s many trips to the Okanagan, with our Mom and Dad, Abe and Frieda. May she Rest In Peace.
With love, Robert Fast, Louise Punnett, and Susan Fast

To all,
Corrie was a very special and loyal friend to our Mom for many years. We first met Corrie and Harold when they were neighbour's of our adopted 'Grandma Oxley" and then when they were both in Brantwood Villa. Thinking of all during this time.
