Edelweiss was my AMAZING nurse on 4C at McMaster when I had my first child in 2014, and she is a shining memory of my time I spent there. I hoped and prayed for her as my nurse when I had my next 2 babes, which didn't happen, and no care has ever compared to hers. As a nurse myself I heard from a colleague about her passing and it broke my heart. May her love and positive spirit live on in all of those whose lives she touched. My deepest condolences to her children and grandchildren who she was blessed to have. God Bless! XO

Edelwiess and I met in 2010 over a Doberman and a Bernese. We became fast friends as we delighted in our work together with the dogs and also our medical backgrounds and general love of life. Edelwiess was one of the most uplifting, genuine, empathetic, and generous people I have known. Together we were excited to bring as much good to this world as we possibly could. I brought Edelwiess and Bella into our team of Therapy Dogs in 2013. Edelweiss and Bella were involved with every program from the very young to the very old to the very sick or traumatized. They worked with the frail and elderly in our Day Away and nursing/retirement homes, the PAWS Rooms and PAws-Abilities programs for our students mental health and special needs/autistic programs, the Paws to Read programs for young readers at the library and the schools, with Children’s Aid Society, with Community Living programs, with the Mary Poppins Daycare program, with child victims of violence in the Hamilton Court system, and in every single public event we do within Haldimand County. Edelweiss and Bella devoted themselves to the citizens of Haldimand County. They were loved by all they met and left each person better than when they had met them. There are few people in this world who can truly uplift and inspire you to be a better person yourself for having known them....and Edelweiss was one of those. The world has lost a very bright light but her memory will inspire others for generations to come. I am heartbroken that she is gone, but comforted that she and her beloved Bella are together wherever their next journey takes them. I am honoured to have been your friend and also your Team Leader for Therapeutic Paws of Canada - Haldimand County.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Edelweiss during her last couple weeks on C4 and even during the beginning of her days when she was receiving treatment with us. She was truly a shiny star and just amplified love and happiness. She always put a smile on my face and I know that I did the same for her. In her last few days she showed much more sadness than I had ever seen from her but that will not taint my memory of her joyous, free and absolutely beautiful spirit. May you rest in piece Edelweiss. You will not be forgotten <3 - Nicole C

Edelweiss was one of my best friends. She always encouraged me to pursue my dream and it never would of happened without her support. I think in Heaven the definition for joy is Edelweiss. She spread her light wherever she went. I know she is watching overus all now with her guiding hand and heart full of love.

I had the pleasure of working with Edelweiss as a team member of TPOC Haldimand County. She was so giving, with the biggest smile and greatest laugh. I fostered a pup for her through her work with Victim Services, her generous loving spirit knew no bounds. I am blessed to have know such an amazing strong loving lady. RIP with her lovely Bella.

Edelweiss and I did visits together for TPOC. She also wanted to help me stop a dog rescue that was kind of shady. She called me one day and asked me if I was home. She was at the top of a hill looking down at the rescue. She said she was going down to pretend she wanted to adopt so she could see what they were doing. She said if she didn't call me back in an hour to call the police. She called in 45 minutes and she told me what she found out. We laughed about the drama after.
Edelweiss was such a kind and loving person. Will miss her always!!
